On September 21, at the seminar on the background of "the new decade of cross-border e-commerce", Zhang Jianping, deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, made such comments.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Meanwhile, China's cross-border e-commerce developed rapidly. Public data show that the proportion of cross-border e-commerce imports and exports in foreign trade has risen from less than 1% five years ago to about 5% at present.

In view of this, sponsored by the People's Daily Online public opinion Data Center/People Online, a seminar on "the path and mode of new momentum of foreign trade" was held in Beijing, where experts and scholars from ministries and commissions, universities, scientific research institutes and representatives of cross-border e-commerce enterprises conducted in-depth discussions on the emerging new models and new formats of foreign trade. Meanwhile, Duoduo Cross-border, launched by Pinduoduo in September last year, has attracted wide attention as the youngest but rapidly developing offshore platform.

In the view of Li Mingtao, president of the Research Institute of China International E-commerce Center, in recent years, the rise of "China platform" in cross-border e-commerce has provided a new business infrastructure for overseas enterprises. "This global channel built by Chinese enterprises themselves is more autonomous and controllable, whether it provides fully managed services, marketing, logistics and other support, which provides strong support for the transformation of Chinese manufacturing and even the formation of unique global competitiveness."
